About

I just defended my dissertation and will graduate this May 2021 with a doctoral degree from the Department of English at Stony Brook University. My specializations are in American literature from the nineteenth to the twenty-first centuries, popular culture, gothic studies, and film.

My dissertation explores how nineteenth century American gothic fiction works to construct and critique liberal formulations of personhood, and it compares that with the treatment of neoliberal formulations of identity in contemporary American horror.

Outside of my academic life, I’m a podcast aficionado, tea addict, and novice yogi. Some of my favorite days are spent going to the theatre.
